I started learning guitar in 2008-09. Very early I learned a couple of the easiest tunes to learn like House of the Rising Sun, Hallelujah and other tunes like those. It is interesting how some of the best songs use a few basic chords like …… G …… D ……. C !!!!
One weekend my daughter and I decided that we would go visit my sister on the Sunshine Coast. At the time we were both living on Vancouver Island and had to take ferries to get there. One from Nanaimo, BC to Horseshoe Bay …… then another from Horseshoe Bay to Gibsons BC. With a two 2 hour wait in Horseshoe Bay we searched for a place to hang out …… Horseshoe Bay is one of the most beautiful places on this great planet of ours.
Sooooo ….. “Let’s go get something to eat” ….. always good for a twelve year old!!!!! ….. so we walked a little and saw at Sewell’s Marina …… the Lookout Cafe ….. very cute …… and ……. here we come.
We go in and lo and behold we are the only ones there ….. order a coffee for me and ….. I don’t remember what my daughter had but we sit at the window and ….. enjoy the view!!!
Like most 12 year olds at the time, she had her laptop and logged into Facebook ….. my thought ….. “Oh …. I guess we won’t be talking about life and living – LOL” ….. soooo ….. I got out my guitar and in a few seconds of fooling around with the basic G ….. D …… C chords the words “Facebook, Gmail, MSN ……. I like talking to my friends …… on Facebook …… Gmail ……. Mmmmmm …….Sssssssss ……. Nnnnnnn ….. WOW ….. I thought ….. could be a REAL song …… my first song! OMG!! ….. LOL
So over the next few days or so the other verses came to me and VOILA!!!!! …… a song!
I doubt very much if this little ditty will make it to the Top of the Charts any time soon but is was fun to sing the song over the years ….. hope you enjoy!!!
